On the Fringe of the Digital Divide
F-ALT was a fringe event organised to coincide with the ALT-C conference at Leeds this September.

Thanks to everyone who turned up, pitched in and made the first ever participant organised ALT-C Fringe a fantastic success!
F-ALT consisted of several short, sharp, session, held in public conference and university spaces. They were designed to focus discussion around a range of topics and allow participants and bystanders to experiment with an alternative conference format. Participants picked the topics they were interested in debated and negotiated session delivery. The majority of people who came to watch joined in, but we used a lightweight structure (named facilitator & a few speakers) to scaffold the topics.

- Twemes made something of a comeback during the fringe - we were all delighted!
- The Technorati search is over here and you can pick up the html to stick in to your blog posts to make sure your post shows up at the bottom of the page. Somewhat hilariously they are picking up Falco videos as part of the tag. Falco does not support or in any official way endorse F-ALT08.
- Similarly, F-ALT had no official connection to, relationship with, or endorsement of ALT or ALT-C. We don't have sponsors, budget, organisational structure, chair, committee, or mascot. But we wanted a mascot. The Truck Monster.
